Robert E GuthRobert E. “Bob” Guth, 80, of Franklin, passed away, surround by his loving family, at his residence on Friday, March 3rd, at 12:01 a.m., following an illness.

Born July 17, 1936 in Venus, Bob was the son of the late Frank and Wilda Foster Guth. He was married to the former Linda McClintock on April 7, 1959, and she survives.

Bob was a retired truck driver who drove for numerous companies for more than 40 years.

After his retirement, he purchased a dump truck and hauled gravel for many years.

He was a member of Worden Chapel United Methodist Church in Franklin, a 40 year member of the Rainbow Beagle Club in Franklin, and a member of the Sharpsville Beagle Club in Mercer.

Bob enjoyed raising beagles and liked to spend time in the woods with them.

He was a collector of Farmall tractors and Bolen lawn mowers and “loved” to mow grass. He enjoyed hunting, camping, “keeping busy”, and especially spending time with his family.

He was a “jokester” who was loved by all.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kevin Guth and his wife, Cindy, of Franklin; his daughter, Robin Braatz and her husband, Richard, of Utica; his 4 grandchildren – Kelly Deeter and her husband, Josh, of Avella, PA, Brandon Braatz and his wife, Brooke, of Franklin, Austin Braatz and Racquel Whitmore of Slippery Rock, and Kara Guth and Eryk Roberts of Oil City; and his “soon-to-be” great-grandson.

Bob is also survived by his brother, Raymond J. Guth and his wife, Karoll, of Franklin; and his 4 sisters – Marion Fulmer and her husband, Charles “Bob”, of Franklin, Helen Bell and her husband, Elmer, of Cochranton, his twin sister, Barbara “Sue” Metz and her husband, Ed, of Utica, and Donna Dayton and her husband, Bob, of Oil City.

Funeral Services for Bob will be private and held at the convenience of his family.

The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family wishes memorial contributions to be sent to St. Jude Children Research Hospital – 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and/or the Venango VNA Foundation – 491 Allegheny Avenue, Franklin PA 16323.
