Robert Oliver “Red” Carrow

Robert Oliver “Red” Carrow, 86, of 714 Innis St. Oil City died at 9:05 A.M. Sunday Aug. 13, 2017 after an extended illness.

Born June 30, 1931 in Mt. Jewett, PA. , he was the son of the late Oliver & Elva Nogar Carrow.

Robert was a 1949 Graduate of Oil City High School.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, and had served on the U.S.S. Jarvis.

On Feb. 4, 1956 he was married to the former Ramona J. “Nonie” Toy and she survives.

They were married in Our Lady Help of Christians Church by the late Rev. Kaltenbach.

Red had worked at Pennzoil for many years in the print shop.

Mr. Carrow enjoyed playing pool, and was a member of the Venango County Mens Pool League for many years and also belonged to the mixed couples league. He was known by many as a great pool player.

He played for Allio’s Baseball Team in the sixties and their team never lost a game that year.

He was a life member of the V.F.W. and was also a member of the Elks Club.

Red enjoyed watching sports and was a Pittsburgh Sports enthusiast.

He was of the Methodist Faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children and their spouses, Robert Scott Carrow & his wife Colette of Harmony, PA., Tim Carrow & his wife Michelle of Oil City, Deborah J. Carrow of Oil City, Fred J. Carrow & his wife Laurie of Oil City, Edward Carrow & his wife Mary of Chicago, IL, Phil Carrow & his wife Katalin of Atlanta, GA; a daughter -in-law, Theresa Carrow of Sanger, TX; 16 Grandchildren, Ian Carrow, Justine Horner and her husband Chris, Alyssa & Jacob Carrow, William, Thomas and Jimmy Dunn and Emily Pruxell & her husband Brad, Caleb & Madison Carrow, Alex, Kelli and Kyle Carrow, Ana, Portia and Sofie Carrow; 6 Great Grandchildren, Alexis, Jason, Mason, Elijah, Noah, Jasmine and one on the way. And several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Raymond J. Carrow; a sister, Joanne Minnich.

Private Visitation and Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.

Interment with full military Honors will be in Calvary Cemetery.

A gathering for friends and family will be held on Wednesday from 4:00P.M.-6:00P.M. at the Free Methodist Church on Wilson Avenue in Oil City.

In lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made to Asera Care Hospice. 1600 Peninsula Dr. Suite 14 Erie, Pa. 16505.

The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
