Robert P. Novak, Jr., age 51, of 21 Bleakley Ave, Franklin, died Monday, December 24, 2012 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, PA.

A son of Robert P., Sr. and Mary G. Kightlinger Novak, he was born November 27, 1961 in Franklin, PA.

Mr. Novak was a 1980 graduate of Franklin High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, anything outdoors, and working as a volunteer for Gliding Stars, an adaptive skating program, for 28 years.

A peacetime veteran, he had served in the US Navy.

He was employed as a Laborer for 15 years by Taylor-Pholman Foundry in Buffalo, NY.

Surviving is his wife, Dawn M. Martin Novak, whom he married November 2, 1984; two sons, James B. Novak and Robert P. Novak III, both of Franklin; a daughter Michelle Novak, also of Franklin; three brothers, Randy Novak of Cooperstown, PA; David B. Novak and wife Christine of Emlenton, Steven J. Novak and wife Marcy of Cooperstown, PA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Friends will be received from 10 am to 11 am Friday, December 28 at the Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA, where funeral services will be held 11am Friday with the Rev. Mark Fultz of the Cooperstown Evangelical Tabernacle officiating. Interment will be made in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
