Robert R. Green, Sr., 77, a resident of Franklin died peacefully at 4:30 PM Saturday, June 3, 2017, following a period of declining health.

He was born June 14, 1939 in Franklin, a beloved son of the late: Robert T. and Loretta Marie Hazen Green.

Following school, Bob proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during peacetime just following the Korean War era; where he earned rank of Private.

Following his honorable discharge from duty, Bob had worked as a laborer at the former Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company of Franklin, Franklin Bronze and the former Franklin Steel before retiring from Joy Manufacturing in Franklin.

He was married June 7, 1966 to the former Esther L. Bell. Sadly, Esther preceded him in death just this past Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

Bob is survived by two sons: Robert R. Green, Jr. of Franklin and Russell D. “Russ” Green of Oil City.

Also surviving is his sister, Constance J. Ward of South Carolina; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis G. Green.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public visitation.

Private graveside funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of his family in Franklin Cemetery. In recognition of Bob’s service to his country, full military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Funeral Honor Guard of Franklin.
