Robert “Rabbit” Moon, Sr., 82, passed away at UPMC Hamot on Friday, October 20th, 2017 at 9:50 pm.

He was born in Oil City on December 22, 1934, to the late Clair and Grace (Hockman) Moon.

Robert was well known to the community as “Rabbit”. He was an avid outdoorsman and horticulturist who took great pride in his vegetable garden and floral displays.

Robert is the former owner of Rabbit’s Bait Shop, a business he began after he retired from Chicago Pneumatic Tool.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons; Robert Moon, Jr. (Pamela Sue) of Polk, Rusty Moon (Connie) of Cooperstown, Kevin Moon (Traci) of Franklin; his two daughters; Cynthia Kober of Myrtle Beach, SC and Carrie Wright (Trevor) of Cranberry; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He is further survived by his brother; William Moon and; and his sister; Judy Flinchbaugh.

Mr. Moon is preceded in death by his parents, his brother; Edward, and his sisters; Beverly Wice and Betty Mae Winger.

Friends are invited to the Mt. Carmel Tabernacle, 128 Wallaceville Rd, Dempseytown, on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a memorial service to follow with The Reverend Dana Lewis officiating.

Interment will be at Cooperstown Cemetery.
