Robert Sidney Emhoff, age 84, of New Bethlehem (Rockville, Porter Township), went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning October 16, 2017, while surrounded by his family.

Sid, as he was known to most, was born February 12, 1933, in Porter Township, Clarion County, to the late Samuel Edwin Emhoff and Edith Pearl Stephens Emhoff. He was a graduate of Grove City High School with the class of 1950.

He proudly served in the United States Army as a sergeant in Korea. Serving his country from February 19, 1951, through February 18, 1954.

He married the love of his life, Patricia A. Young on June 16, 1956. They were married for 61 years.

After marrying, he and his wife moved to his Uncle Bob McDonald’s Nursery and farm, purchasing the business and farm in Porter Township.

Sid retired from Eljer Manufacturing Inc. of Ford City.

He loved the Lord and committed his life to serving Him.

Sid loved working on the farm with his family, hunting and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed Sunday dinners, family picnics, gardening, watching the Pittsburgh sports teams and game shows on tv and attending the Men’s Bible study and Men’s Breakfast.

He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in New Bethlehem and served on many boards and committees including: The Church Association, the Community Hymn Sing, Easter Sunrise Service, Food Pantry and Church Scholarship Fund. He was also the former Auditor for Porter Township.

Sid was also a member and former Commander of the Walter Craig American Legion Post #354 of New Bethlehem and was a proud member of their Military Funeral Services detail and the Legion auditors.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. Emhoff and their two children: Barbara Emhoff Sayer and her husband, John Sayers, and Robert E. Emhoff; a daughter-in-law, Marcie Hawk Emhoff, all of New Bethlehem; four grandchildren: Jesse Sayers and his wife, Karen Shick Sayers, of New Bethlehem; Shayla Emhoff Keith and her husband, Ricky Keith, of Marion Center; Desirae Sayers of Emlenton and Skylar Emhoff and his wife, Taylor Mann Emhoff of New Bethlehem.

Sid is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Kenzie and Hunter Keith, Evan and Matthew Sayers and Dallas and Jameson Emhoff; sister-in-law, Phyllis Young Powell of Timblin and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, John, and LaVern

Emhoff; four sisters, Louise Bowersox, Lorena Henry, Martha Sample and Kathryn Smith; brother-in-law, Leonard Young and sister-in-law, Elmo Cyphert.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem and from 10–11 a.m., Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Grace Baptist Church, 605 East Washington Street, New Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with the Reverend Robert Ryver, church pastor, officiating.

Military honors will be accorded following the service by the Walter Craig American Legion Post #354 of New Bethlehem.

Interment will follow in the Squirrel Hill Cemetery.
