Robert-Brown-1497799055Robert William Brown, Sr., 73, of E. 6th Street, Oil City, died unexpectedly of natural causes at 6:54 pm, Saturday, June 17, 2017, at his residence.

Born May 31, 1944 in Rouseville he was the son of the late John Albert and Dorothy Gathers Brown.

Bob attended Oil City High School.

Mr. Brown worked as a machinist at Millcraft and SMS.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved baseball, especially the Pirates and watching his grandsons play, and was self-taught on the banjo.

On January 6, 1962, he was married to the former Donna Mosier, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert Brown, Jr. and wife Paula of Oil City and Chad Brown and wife Jennifer of Gloucester, VA; two daughters, Robin Dodd and husband Joel of Las Vegas, NV and Kerri Lynn Goodman and husband Shawn of Oil City; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Also surviving is a sister, Kathryn Gift and husband Richard of West Palm Beach, FL.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Jamie Brown, and a sister Barb Brown.

Services were private and held at the convenience of the family.

The Morrison Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Lung Association.
