Rocky Grove’s Perry Makes it Official, Signs to Play Baseball at Youngstown State

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Rocky Grove standout multi-sport athlete Travis Perry has officially signed to play baseball at NCAA Division I Youngstown State.

Perry, a 6-foot-7 right-handed pitcher, has helped Rocky Grove to back-to-back District 10 baseball titles and to the PIAA quarterfinals.

Ranked the 24th overall prospect in Pennsylvania and the ninth overall pitcher, Perry, who also plays golf and basketball, has been the District 10 Player of the Year the last two seasons and was a 2017 Perfect Game Underclass Honorable Mention Selection. He has a strong connection to Youngstown playing for the Baird Brothers Youngstown Class B summer team which earned a third-place finish in the Palomino 18U World Series.

He joins Punxsutawney standout Brandon Matthews in committing to the Penguins.
