Rollover Crash in Kingsley Township, Driver Flees Scene

KINGSLEY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A man lost control of his vehicle, rolled it onto its roof, and then flees the scene in Kingsley Township, Forest County.

According to Marienville-based State Police, around 4:31 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 52-year-old William G. Hyde, of Derry, PA, was driving a 1998 Dodge RAM 1500, west on German Hill Road just north of Forest Service Road in Kingsley Township.

Police say Hyde was negotiating a sharp left-hand curve in the road when, for an unknown reason, he lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the north side of the road, impacting the beginning of a guide rail. The vehicle rolled over and came to a final rest on its roof.

According to police, Hyde fled the scene on foot prior to EMS and police arrival. He was later identified and confirmed to have no injuries.

Police say Hyde was charged with multiple summary offenses.

Tionesta Volunteer Fire Department, Tionesta EMS, and Forest County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
