ROUSEVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — A Rouseville man is facing felony burglary and related charges following an incident where he allegedly attempted to force his way into a woman’s Rouseville home.

Court documents indicate the Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 29-year-old Preston R Huber.

According to a criminal complaint, around 11:59 p.m. on Friday, February 21, a known woman heard someone banging on the front entry door to her residence, and upon looking through the glass on the food door, believe it to be her daughter returning home.

The woman unlocked the door and cracked it open, and an unknown male, later identified as Preston Huber, entered the front entryway, repeating “everything is going to be alright,” the complaint states.

The woman then repeatedly struck Huber with the front door until he exited back onto the porch. The woman then contacted Venango County 9-1-1. Huber continued to try to gain entry through the front door for a time but eventually stepped away, according to the complaint.

While on the phone with Trooper Morrison, of the Franklin-based State Police, the woman reported Huber had left the porch, and for a short time, she believed he had left the scene. However, moments later, he allegedly attempted to enter through a side window of the residence.

According to the complaint, after failing to get through the window, Huber proceeded to the door attached to a breezeway that connects the residence to a garage. He was unable to get through that door and then proceeded to the front of the garage.

The complaint states Troopers Cole and Lindenberg then arrived at the scene, approximately ten minutes after the initial call was made, an observed Huber using the keypad on the garage in an attempt to get inside.

Huber was then ordered to the ground and taken into custody without further incident.

Huber was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, on the following charges:

– Burglary — Overnight Accommodations; Person Present, Bodily Injury Crime, Felony 1
– Loitering And Prowling At Night Time, Misdemeanor 3
– Defiant Trespass Actual Communication To, Misdemeanor 3
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary
– Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct, Summary

He remains free on $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, with Judge Lowrey presiding.
