Route 62 Reopened Following Sunday Night Crash

FRENCHCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Officials say State Route 62/Mercer Road was reopened late Sunday night after being closed for several hours due to a crash.

A representative of Venango County 9-1-1 told exploreVenango.com a call was received around 8:18 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, reporting a crash involving at least one vehicle in the area of 706 Mercer Road.

Polk Fire Rescue, Sandycreek Volunteer Fire Department, Utica Volunteer Fire Department, Community Ambulance Service, and Franklin-based State Police were dispatched to the scene.

LifeFlight was also called to the scene.

State Route 62/Mercer Road was closed to traffic from Georgetown Road in Frenchcreek Township to Niles Road in Polk Borough due to the crash.

The road was reopened and the scene was cleared around 11:47 p.m.

No additional details are available at this time.

Police are expected to release information on the accident within the next 48 hours.
