Route 8 Bridge Closed in Titusville

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – The bridge that carries Route 8 (South Franklin Street) over Oil Creek in the City of Titusville is closed for rehabilitation work.

Separate car and truck detours are posted. The car and pedestrian detour uses East Bloss Street, South Drake Street, Bank Street, Brown Street and Water Street. The posted truck detour will use Route 227 and Route 27.

Work will include removing the existing bridge deck and sidewalk and replacing them with a new reinforced concrete deck and sidewalk. Work will also include cleaning and painting the bridge.

The bridge is expected to reopen August 23, 2018.
