Rubye PainterRubye O. Painter, 88, of Rimersburg, PA passed away Monday, December 26, 2016, at the Butler Hospital.

He was born April 16, 1928 in Porter Twp., Clarion Co. PA, the son of Linzie F. and Violet V. (Mortimer) Painter.

Rubye was a member of the Wildcat Wesleyan Methodist Church and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #277 where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He honorably served in the United States Airforce during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a certified nursing assistant with Beverly Manor in Shippenville but previously worked for 28 years with Pullman Standard as a welder.

Rubye was an avid Steeler Fan and enjoyed hunting and eating shrimp. He had dearly loved his wife and treasured the times spent with his family.

He will best be remembered as a wonderful man with a big heart who had a great sense of humor and lots of friends.

He will be deeply missed by his two sons, Terry A. Painter and Shawn P. Painter and companion, Theresa Doerr all of Rimersburg; a daughter, Rhonda R. Bobak of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Rubye was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Mary Louise Painter who died March 6, 2009; three brothers, Pete W. Painter, Merle F. Painter, and Bruce F. Painter; and three sisters, Parma F. Shearer, Gladys Eire, and Frances Crissman.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, where a Masonic service will be held at 7 PM.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Deeter officiating.

Burial will be in Cedarview Memorial Park, Strattanville, Pennsylvania.
