FOREST CO., Pa. — A multi-year project to repair and reinforce portions of Route 62 continues in Hickory Township in Forest County and Limestone and Watson townships, in Warren County.

The project will involve corrections in six landslide areas, including the construction of at 978-foot soldier pile retaining wall south of Cobham Hill Road in Watson Township. Work will also include milling and paving the roadway, building geosynthetic reinforced soil slopes and updates to guide rails and drainage.

The repairs got underway in December. The anticipated completion date for the project is August 7, 2020. Work in 2019 will include slide repairs and pipe replacements. Paving is expected to take place in 2020.

The contractor is Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College, PA. The contract cost is $13,389,062, which will be paid entirely with federal funds.

No detour is anticipated, though motorists may encounter traffic controlled by flaggers or temporary signals for portions of the project.

PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
