SANDYCREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, a scam occurred on Maple Grove Circle, in Sandycreek Township, Venango County.

Police say a 69-year-old woman sent approximately $1591.00 in US currency to unknown perpetrator(s) from the state of Iowa to benefit taxes and fees for Obamacare.

The investigation revealed this was a fraudulent scam by unknown individuals. Consequently, the perpetrator(s) kept the victim’s money without her consent, according to police.

The incident occurred sometime between 1:00 p.m. on June 3 and 5:00 p.m. on June 13.
