Sara E ZemanSara Elizabeth Toy Zeman passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Kind and free spirited, Sara brightened up everyone’s life that she touched.

She was born to Barbara Duckett (VA) and Richard Toy (PA) on 17 March 1994 in Clarion PA.

Sara moved to New Kent, VA when she was only 2 years old and attended New Kent schools from kindergarten through her graduation from New Kent High School in 2012.

She was a member of the New Kent Middle School Beta Club and Band and New Kent High School Choir and she lettered in track.

Sara enlisted in the United States Air Force on 13 August 2013 and graduated from Basic Military Training shortly thereafter.

She was then assigned to Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX. where she received the technical training needed to do her job as an Aircraft Armament Systems Apprentice. She graduated in Feb of 2014 and arrived at Moody Air Force Base, GA the same month.

While stationed at Moody, she quickly tackled the ranks, making Senior Airman Below the Zone, a feat limited to a select few, and then Staff Sergeant on her first attempt.

Sara also deployed twice in her time at Moody. She first deployed in direct support of Operation Atlantic Resolve from Sept. 15-March 16 and most recently to Nellis Air Force Base Nevada from Jun –Dec 2016 where she was hand selected to fill a shortfall for a fellow A-10 Squadron.

She has been on countless temporary duty assignments throughout the country since she entered service. Sara was always a valuable member whether as a Weapons team Member or more recently as a Weapons Team Chief.

As great of an airman that Sara was, she was an even better friend, known for being able to turn any situation into one filled with smiles and laughter, she made everyone around her better and they loved her for it. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband Lucas, a loving and caring daughter, sister, aunt, niece and granddaughter to her family.

She was an avid animal enthusiast and aspired to one day be a veterinarian. Her animals were her children, 4 dogs, Jenna Bean, Petey Pablo, Stella Luna and Roman; 2 cats Mr. Butt and Friskers. Sara will truly be missed as she was one of a kind.

Sara is survived by her husband Lucas Zeman; mother and step-father Barbara and David Duckett; father Richard Toy; a brother William Morgan; a sister Jennifer Toy; a nephew Zachary Raymond; grandmothers Rita M. Irby and Alma Q. Duckett; and numerous aunts and uncles located around the country.
