Sarah A. Courtney, 76, of President Twp., PA. , died at 4:26 A.M. Monday, Aug 28, 2017, at her home following an extended illness.

Born Sept. 9, 1940, in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Byron J. Keating Sr. & Virginia L. Cubitt Keating.

Sarah was a 1959 graduate of St. Joseph High School.

She was married on Nov. 19, 1961, in West Virginia to William Stubler Courtney and he preceded her in death on June 8, 1992.

Sarah retired after 25 years at Polk Center where she was employed as a Resident Service Aide.

Sarah attended St. Joseph Church.

She enjoyed traveling and enjoyed trips to New York City and Las Vegas.

She also enjoyed baking for her family.

She was a member of the Pulaski Club, where she belonged to the bowling league.

She is survived by one daughter, Kim Courtney of Franklin; one brother, Paul Keating of Oil City; three sisters, Connie Keating &friend Ron Perry of Oil City, Patricia Shook & her husband William of Seneca, Beth Rice & her husband Raymond of Cranberry; sister-in-laws, Tracy Keating of Arkansas, Virginia Fortney of Florida; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Hook of Florida.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son William S. Courtney Jr.; four brothers, Edward Keating, Michael Keating, Byron J. “ByJoe” Keating and Robert Keating and a sister Marilyn Hook.

She was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law James Courtney.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. Thursday in St. Joseph Church, with Fr. John Miller, Pastor, Presiding.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
