| May 13, 2018

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – Austin Rhoads singled home Conner Rakow in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Franklin a wild, 10-9, win over visiting Saegertown.

The Knights twice staved off three-run deficits in what would have been their final at-bat before taking the victory in the 10th.

Saegertown, which led 6-2 going to the sixth, was up 6-3 needing three outs in the seventh for the road win.

But Franklin had other ideas scoring three times after two were out to force extra innings.

Rakow was hit by a pitch with two outs to start the rally, and Zach Baughman then reached on an error that otherwise would have ended the game. Rhoads then walked to load the bases and Kaden Keely was hit by a pitch to make it 6-4. Ian Haynes then tied the game with a two-run single to left.

Saegertown shook off the blown lead to go back up, 9-8, with three runs in the top of the ninth.

But again, Franklin had the answer.

Then with one out, Keely scored on an error to make it 9-8, and Brendon Gordon brought Haynes home with a sacrifice fly.

Then in the 10th, Rakow doubled leading off the inning, and an out later Rhoads singled to center to win the game.
