COLUMBIA, S.C. — A South Carolina man who won a $100,000 lottery prize said the jackpot nearly ended up permanently unclaimed when he almost tossed the ticket in the trash.The Columbia man told South Carolina Education Lottery officials he was throwing out a stack of old lottery tickets that he believed to be losers when one of the tickets, a Palmetto Cash 5 ticket, caught his eye.
