MONTEREY BAY, CA — A researcher shark-watching off the coast of California captured video footage of his rare encounter with a swimming deer he steered away from the sharks.

The researcher was surprised to find the deer swimming directionless in the ocean and said in the video that the encounter was “bizarre”.
