OKALOOSA CO., FL — The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said a sergeant who spotted what he initially thought to be a turtle under a bridge ended up rescuing a small dog.

The sergeant fished the dog out of the water and was later able to return the canine to his owners, who said their pet had fallen from a pontoon boat earlier in the day.
