Say What?!: ‘Bloom’ of Ladybugs Caught on Weather Radar

SAN DIEGO, California — A large group of ladybugs, called a “bloom,” was recently caught the National Weather Service’s radar.

According to reports, the ladybugs were spread out through the sky, flying between 5,000 feet and 9,000 feet, and moving in an “odd” way compared to normal weather. A ground spotter was then able to confirm the radar was picking up the “bloom” of insects, and not a weather pattern.
