Say What?!: Shark That Bit Man 25 Years Ago Identified Through DNA

FLORIDA — A man in Florida who was bitten by a shark 25 years ago got help from a Florida museum to identify the type of shark.

The man discovered a fragment of the shark’s tooth in his foot and decided to send it to researchers in the Florida Program for Shark Research at the Florida Museum, who were able to determine he was bitten by a Carcharhinus limbatus, or blacktip shark.
