Say What?!: Firefighters Set Turkey on Fire at Marine Corps Station

MIRAMAR, Calif. — Firefighters intentionally set a turkey on fire at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar to raise awareness of safe cooking procedures for the holiday season.

During the demonstration held for U.S. Marines, firefighters from the Miramar Fire Department dropped an ice-cold turkey into an overfilled fryer, using the wrong type of oil and cooking at the wrong temperature. The aim was to show exactly what could go wrong if a turkey is cooked improperly.
