CANBERRA, Australia — Runners and roller skaters dressed in dinosaur costumes recently competed T-Rex Cup races in Australia.

Sponsored by Little Oak Sanctuary, the event was billed as a “compassionate” alternative to the Melbourne Cup horse race.
