Scott Edwin Bashline, age 23, of Shippenville, passed away Friday morning, February 12, 2016, at his home.

Born August 29, 1992 in Franklin, he is a son of Vern Edwin and Donna Marie Nick Bashline of Shippenville.

He was a 2011 graduate of Keystone High School where he played baseball and football and was a member of the skeet club.

Scott was employed by Swartfager Welding in Knox and was a member of the Pine City United Methodist Church.

He belonged to Double D Outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed camping, outdoors and sports.

In 2014 he placed second at the Spartanburg Demo Derby.

In addition to his parents, Vern and Donna, Scott is survived by his brother, Matthew Lawrence Bashline and wife, Katie, of Mariasville; his fiancé, Ashley Nicole Custer of Knox; his paternal grandmother, Helen I. Bashline of Pine City and his paternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Bashline of Knox.

Scott is also survived by three uncles and an aunt: Stanley Alan Bashline of Pine City; Clarence John Nick, Jr. of Shippenville; Kenneth Nick of Wayne, New Jersey and Ronna Marie Lang of Dushore.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Paul Edwin Bashline; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Margaret Nick; two aunts, Connie and Sally and three uncles; Cletus, Phil and John.

Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 PM Monday, February 15, 2016 and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Ave., Knox.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in the Pine City United Methodist Church, Millerstown Road, Shippenville, with the Reverend Calvin J. Cook officiating.

Interment will follow in the Perry Chapel Cemetery at Pine City, Elk Township, Clarion County.

Memorial contributions may be made in the name of Scott Edwin Bashline to the Shippenville-Elk Volunteer Ambulance Company or Shippenville-Elk Volunteer Fire Department, both located at PO Box 160, Shippenville, PA 16254.
