Search Warrant Leads to Drug Arrest in Sugarcreek

handcuffsFRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – A Franklin man is behind bars after drugs were allegedly found in his residence by state parole agents last month.

Sugarcreek Borough Police were assisting state probation and parole agents around 10:20 p.m. on May 31 at the residence of 28-year-old Dustin Ryan King, at 315 Fox Street, Franklin, when the parole agent allegedly found drug paraphernalia.

A search warrant was issued and officers allegedly discovered more controlled substances and drug paraphernalia in the residence.

King was then placed in the Venango County Jail on a parole detainer.

He is facing the following charges:

  • Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
  • Aggravated Assault, Felony 2
  • Possesses Incapacitation Device W/Intent, Felony 2
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

His preliminary hearing has not been scheduled yet.

King was found guilty in a jury trial on January 9 of one count each of conspiracy – intentional possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.

He was sentenced on March 27 by Judge Oliver Lobaugh to serve a total of 48 months probation and fined $1,000.00. He was part of a drug ring in Venango County that included nearly four dozen people and was prosecuted by the state Attorney General’s office.

King has served time and has been on probation in Venango and Lawrence counties for drug offenses, theft, and DUI.
