GREEN TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A second person has been implicated in a theft that occurred at a Green Township seasonal property in 2017.

According to court documents, Marienville-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 34-year-old Farrah L Scott, of York, Pa., in Magisterial District Judge Daniel L. Miller’s office on October 9, 2019:

– Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 1
– Conspiracy — Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property
– Criminal Mischief — Damage Property, Misdemeanor 3
– Criminal Trespass/Simple Trespasser, Summary

The charges are the result of an investigation of a theft that occurred at 165 Orchard View Lane, in Green Township, Forest County, on December 25, 2017.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Corporal Lencer, of Marienville-based State Police, around 4:16 p.m. on December 25, 2017, Farrah Lynne Scott and Daniel Houston, of Espyville, Pa., arrived at the above-described location and cut the chain from a secure gate. They traveled back the driveway to a private seasonal residence.

The complaint states that Houston’s vehicle was backed up to the front of the camp, the two exited the vehicle, and both took part in wheeling a towable Sears Crafsman log splitter out to the back of Houston’s 2002 Nissan Pathfinder.

The hitch on the back of Houston’s vehicle was not compatible with the hitch on the log splitter, so they left the property and returned at 4:36 p.m. (around 20 minutes later). Then, they hooked the log splitter to the back of Houston’s vehicle and fled the property, according to the complaint.

The incident was captured on the victim’s security cameras.

Daniel Houston was interviewed on January 19, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. by Corporal Tim Lencer, of PSP Marienville, and Trooper Freeman at the State Probation Office in Erie.

During the interview, Houston admitted to taking the wood splitter from the camp and selling it in New Castle, Pa.

He also implicated Scott, as being with him and helping him steal the log splitter, according to the complaint.

A preliminary hearing for Scott is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on November 12 with Judge Miller presiding.

A certified summons was issued to Scott on October 11, 2019.

Charges against Houston were filed on November 15, 2018, and were transferred to the Forest County Court of Common Pleas on January 15, 2019.

A pre-trial conference for Houston is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on October 16 with Judge Gregory J. Hammond presiding.

A certified summons was issued to Houston on September 19.
