Semi Crashes into Car in Richland Township; One Person Injured

RICHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A two-vehicle crash occurred early Saturday morning on Interstate 80 in Richland Township, Venango County.

According to Clarion-based State Police, 40-year-old Mathew A. Williams, of Westland, Ohio, and 41-year-old Andrea M. Wilderman, of New Canaan, Connecticut, were involved in the collision.

Police say around 4:49 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, Williams — operating a 2017 Freightliner — rear-ended a 2015 GMC Acadia driven by Wilderman in the left lane of I-80 around the 45-mile marker.

Williams and Wilderman were not injured.

Emlenton Area Ambulance Service transported a passenger in Wilderman’s vehicle — 41-year-old Brett M. Wilderman, of New Canaan, CT — to Clarion Hospital for suspected minor injuries.

All occupants were using seat belts.

Williams was charged with a traffic violation.
