CLARION CO., Pa. — The Pennsylvania Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee visited a major in-state recycler of high density polyethylene (HDPE) materials on Wednesday, according to State Senator Gene Yaw (R-23), Chairman of the Committee.

Located on State Route 66 in Shippenville, Clarion County, Green Line Polymers is able to process very large quantities of HDPE plastic scrap allowing it to be recycled directly into piping and other environmentally-friendly products rather than a landfill.

“The visit to Green Line Polymers, an employer of over 120 dedicated staff managing post-consumer HDPE materials, was extremely educational,” Senator Yaw said.

“This facility is pivotal to keeping millions of pounds of plastic out of our landfills. It was a pleasure to see their operation, and hear about the recycling initiatives they perform.”

Green Line Polymers is a subsidiary of Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS), the largest consumer of recycled HDPE in the United States. ADS makes thermoplastic piping for commercial, residential, infrastructure and agricultural applications, with a focus on stormwater management.
