Seneca Man Jailed on Drug Charges Following Parole Officer’s Visit

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A parole officer’s home visit led to felony drug charges filed against a Seneca man.

Court documents indicate the Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 21-year-old John Levi Meehan, of Seneca.

According to a criminal complaint, on Tuesday, April 24, a state parole agent contacted PSP Franklin concerning a home visit with John Meehan at a residence on Horsecreek Road in Seneca.

The parole officer allegedly found Meehan in possession of approximately 180 “Pliva” (Trazadone) pills, two Adderall capsules, suspected methamphetamine, approximately 77 needles, two spoons, and a coaster that appeared to have drug residue on them, the complaint states.

The parole agent seized all of the contraband and transported it to PSP Franklin as evidence.

Based on the investigation, Meehan was arraigned at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7, in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office on the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor (three counts)
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

Unable to post $10,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6.
