Seneca Woman Injured In Two-Vehicle Polk Crash

POLK, PA. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police report a two-vehicle accident occurred on June 22 at the intersection of Main Street and Sandy Creek Road in Polk Borough, Venango County.

Police say the crash happened around 3:22 p.m. when Amanda M. Shaffer, 34, of Seneca, driving a 2014 Ford Escape was stopped at a legally posted stop sign on Valley Road.

Shaffer pulled out into the intersection on Main Street, turning left and into the path of a 2004 Chevrolet 3500, operated by Lonnie A. Wolfe, 61, of Tionesta, according to police..

Wolfe swerved into the oncoming lane of travel to attempt to avoid the crash, but struck Shaffer’s vehicle in the front bumper, police say.

Shaffer was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. Wolfe escaped injury and was wearing a seat belt.

Shaffer’s vehicle sustained disabling damage from this impact, and Wolfe’s vehicle sustained disabling damage to its passenger side.

Shaffer was cited with a traffic violation, according to police.

Assisting at the scene were Polk Volunteer Fire Department, Community Ambulance, and Venango Towing and Recovery.
