Oil City Man to Be Sentenced on Fleeing, DUI Charges

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City man will be sentenced on fleeing and DUI charges next week in Venango County Court of Common Pleas.

According to court documents, 27-year-old Travis Michael Reed, of Oil City, will be sentenced at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, by Judge Robert L. Boyer.

On April 26, Reed pleaded guilty to the following charges:

– Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Officer, Felony 3
– DUI: High Rate of Alcohol (Bac.10 — <.16) 1st Offense, Misdemeanor

As a result of the guilty plea, the following offenses were dismissed:

– DUI: General Impairment/Incompetent of Driving Safely — 2nd Offense, Misdemeanor
– Careless Driving, Summary
– Reckless Driving, Summary
– Disregard Flashing Red Signal, Summary

Reed is currently free on $5,000.00 monetary bail.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on January 26.

Around 12:55 a.m., Oil City Police Lieutenant Love attempted to stop a Chevy Cobalt when the driver, Travis Reed, fled onto Central Avenue at a high rate of speed.

Reed nearly crashed twice before pulling into a driveway near his residence.

He was found to be driving under the influence.
