CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police are investigating an incident involving the alleged sexual abuse of a child.

Investigators said photographs of a sexual nature were shared between the suspect and an underage female victim on Snapchat.

Snapchat is an image messaging and multimedia mobile application.

The incident is alleged to have occurred between October 1 and December 6 at a location along Harvey Drive in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

The suspect, who has not been identified, is alleged to be an adult male.

Due to the nature of the case, no further information is being released at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
