Sharon Matthews Clinger

Sharon Matthews Clinger, 68, of Polk, formerly of Clarion, passed away on September 24, 2018, at her home.

She was born on August 25, 1950, in Brookville; daughter of the late Glenn and Gertrude Ganoe Matthews.

Sharon attended Clarion Area High School. She retired from the Housekeeping Department at the Clarion Hospital.

Sharon was of the Catholic Faith. She enjoyed crocheting and reading, but most of all she loved going to car shows with Jake and their 1923 Ford T Bucket, Abby.

Sharon is survived by her longtime companion, Larry “Jake” Miller of Polk, three sisters, Judi Matthews and Tom Vossburg of Strattanville, Glenda Allen and her husband Cliff of Arizona, and Peg Howe and her husband Perry of Clarion, one brother, Bob Matthews his wife Tammy of Sligo, a sister-in-law, Fran Matthews of Knox, and a number of nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Don “Curly” Matthews.

Sharon’s family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home on Friday, September 28, 2018, with Rev. John Phillips, Clarion Hospital Chaplin. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
