Kayla Dunlap Case Update: Emlenton Man Held for Court, Kennerdell Woman Waives Hearing

EMLENTON, Pa. (EYT) – The cases against an Emlenton man and a Kennerdell woman for their involvement in the death of Kayla Dunlap are progressing through the system.

According to court documents, the following charges against Shaun M. Long, 49, of Emlenton, were ordered held for court in a preliminary hearing before District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey:

– Drug Delivery Resulting In Death, Felony 1
– Hinder Apprehension/Prosecution-Conceal/Destroy Evidence, Felony 3
– Hinder Apprehension/Prosecution-False Info To LEO, Felony 3
– Involuntary Manslaughter, Misdemeanor 1
– Abuse Of Corpse, Misdemeanor 2
– False Reports – Reported Offense Did Not Occur, Misdemeanor 2
– Tamper With/Fabricate Physical Evidence, Misdemeanor 2
– Obstruct Admin Law/Other Govt Function, Misdemeanor 2

Due to being considered a flight risk, Long was denied bail and remains lodged in the Venango County Jail.

According to court documents, the following criminal charges against Grace O’Day, Grace Ann O’Day, 23, of Kennerdell, were transferred to Venango County Court of Common Pleas:

– Criminal Conspiracy Engaging – Abuse Of Corpse, Misdemeanor 2
– Criminal Conspiracy Engaging – Tamper With/Fabricate Physical Evidence, Misdemeanor 3
– Furnish Authorities With Information W/O Knowledge, Misdemeanor 3

O’Day is currently lodged in the Venango County Jail on drug-related charges.

Details of the case:

A criminal complaint filed by Trooper Balcik, of PSP Butler, indicates the investigation was initiated after a woman who was later identified as Kayla Dunlap, 28, of Callensburg, was found dead on September 17 in a wooded area along Lake Road near Oneida Valley Dam in Oakland Township, Butler County.
