Shirley BakerShirley Baker, 80, of Orchard Manor formerly of Kennerdell passed away February 15, 2017 with her husband by her side.

Shirley was born March 30, 1936 in Clintonville, she was the daughter of Homer and Mary Hoffman Eakin.

Shirley received her education at Coal Valley Grade School and attended Clintonville High School for a short time before finishing her education at Grove City High School.

Shirley married Bernard Baker on January 31, 1953 and together they celebrated 64 years of marriage. Bernard survives.

Shirley was a active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Clintonville for many years, she was a member of Methodist Women’s Club.

Shirley was a devoted 4-h leader for over 30 years for the Venango County 4-H.

Shirley was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars and the Red Hat Society.

Shirley helped her husband Bernard with keeping the records for the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery for many years.

Shirley worked for Transverse Transport, she hauled many generations of children to and from school for Franklin School District.

Shirley was a avid quilter when her heath permitted, she made all of her grandchildren quilts when they were born and are treasured keepsakes.

Going camping was a favorite past time of her and Bernard’s, they where members of Pine Grove Rovers Camping Club. They met once a month with their friends for weekend camping trips.

Loved ones left to cherish Shirley memory including her husband Bernard of Kennerdell her children Michael Baker of Kennerdell, Charlene Hasenplug and her husband Tim of Kennerdell and Brenda Shaffer and her fiancé Martin Wallace of Erie.

Shirley’s grandchildren Chad Baker and his wife Elissa, Matt Baker, Heather Roberts and her husband Bill, Benjamin Hasenplug and his wife Ivy, Ryan Shaffer and his wife Katie, Deriek Shaffer, and Hayley Shaffer.

Shirley also has 6 great grand children Ryan Sandrock, Lily Hasenplug, Caleb Hasenplug and Tyler Shaffer, Marcus Shaffer, and Austin Shaffer.

Preceded in death by her brothers Carl Eakin, Gaylord Eakin, and Donald Eakin; a daughter in law Kathy Baker.

Shirley’s family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville Pa, on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8.

Funeral service will take place at the funeral home Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Denise Mains officiating from the Grace United Methodist Church.

Internment will take place at the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery.
