Shirley J. Lahr, 87, of Shippenville, passed away Saturday evening, January 26, 2019 at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on July 20, 1931 in Grove City; daughter of the late Robert and Frances Harriger Parsons.

Shirley married James F. Lahr on June 16, 1951, and he preceded her in death.

She was an RN and had worked at the Clarion Psychiatric Center and the Clarion Forest V.N.A.

Shirley was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion, where she was also a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Ladies Guild.

She loved cats.

Shirley enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Robert Lahr of New Port, David Lahr of Strattanville, Paul Lahr and his wife Barbara of Florida, Christine Lahr of Enola, Mark and his wife Ana of Beaver, and Leonard and his wife Anita of Shippenville, four grandchildren, Joseph, Kristen, Marissa, and Trevor, and numerous great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a granddaughter, Michelle.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion with Rev. Monty Sayers, pastor presiding.

Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Shirley’s name to the Clarion Forest V.N.A. Hospice, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion, PA 16214.
