JARZENSKIshirleyShirley Lee Jarzenski, 67, a resident of 1320 Otter Street, Franklin died peacefully at 11:55 AM Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in UPMC-Northwest in Seneca.

Born January 3, 1948 in Franklin, she was a beloved daughter of the late: Virgil Edward and Mildred Irene Latchaw Tarr.

She attended and was graduated from Cranberry Area High School.

Shirley enjoyed caring and nurturing many of the local area resident’s children; as a child care provider in her home for a number of years. She took great pride in providing a loving and caring environment for the children; and playing a special role in their lives.

Her familiar smile and cheerful disposition will be deeply missed by all who had come to know her.

Shirley enjoyed playing cards and sharing fun times with her family; most especially her grandchildren.

She was an active and faithful member of the Franklin Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.

She is survived by two sons: Donald A. Black, Jr. and his wife Tammy of Franklin and Charles R. Jarzenski, II and his wife Kimberly of Oil City; in addition to her beloved grandchildren: Matthew, Tessa, Sam, Ben, Brittnay, Todd, Danielle, Chase, Devyn and Chelsea.

Also surviving are her brothers and sisters: Helen Dengler of Arlington, TX; Betty Orr of Dayton, TN; Bonnie Ward of Covington, VA; Edward Tarr and his wife Vi of Seneca; Bill Tarr and his wife Frances of Las Vegas, NV; Doris Bickel of Franklin and Donnie Tarr and his wife Martha of Oil City; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Yvonne Strain, Leda E. “Flip” Tarr and Loretta Anderson.

In accord of her wishes, there will be no public visitation; nor funeral services.

Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery at the convenience of her family.

The Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin is in charge of funeral arrangements.
