The Golden Eagles (7-10, 2-9 PSAC) will be back in action on Wednesday against Edinboro on Wednesday, January 17.

Gannon led by as many as nine points in the second half, but Clarion chipped away and eventually took the lead early in the fourth quarter. The teams traded buckets back and forth until the end of the game when the Golden Knights went on a 6-2 run in the final minute to seal the win.

Yasmin Lewis was a force in all areas, finishing with just six points but also pulling down 11 rebounds, recording three assists, and making a number of important defensive plays. Amesha Harden-Pullium paced the team with 14 points while Taylor Moltz added 12, all of which came on three-point shots.

Gannon led 9-3 early in the first quarter but the Golden Eagles managed to keep things close after that, pulling to within two points at the end of the period. A high-scoring first gave way to a low-scoring second, as the two teams combined for just 12 points in the second quarter. Marina Kelly and Yndiah Bobo provided the points before halftime as Clarion went into the locker room trailing 23-17.

The Golden Knights came out hot in the third quarter, with Chelsea Rourke making it a nine-point game less than three minutes in, but the Golden Eagle defense knuckled down and began forcing turnovers at a dizzying pace. One such steal by Jordan Bekelja sparked a transition three-pointer by Moltz to cut the lead to six points. Bekelja pulled the same trick on the next trip down the floor, ripping the ball from Maggie Mitchell and kicking it ahead to Harden-Pullium for a trey that made it 31-28.

Harden-Pullium scored at the 2:10 mark of the third to pull her team to within one point, but neither team scored for the remainder of the quarter. In the fourth quarter, Yndiah Bobo rushed down the floor off a defensive board by Lewis and laid it in to put Clarion ahead for the first time, and Moltz added a clutch three-pointer from the left corner to make it a 40-36 advantage with 6:57 to go. The Golden Knights responded with a 7-0 run, taking a 43-40 lead with 3:46 to go before Bobo cut it to one point again with a make.

Nicole LaCava tied the game at 44 with 1:10 to go with a free throw, and Julia Braungart added two free throws to put Gannon ahead 46-44. The Golden Knights continued to hold strong on defense and took the win.
