Slippery Conditions Lead to Several Vehicle Accidents Around Venango County

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Slippery roadway conditions throughout the area on Wednesday contributed to several accidents in Venango County.

According to a representative of Venango County 9-1-1, the call center began to receive reports of motor vehicle accidents early in the day, with the first call coming in at 2:08 a.m. for a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 80. Superior Ambulance Service, Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department, Emlenton Fire Department, Emlenton Area Ambulance Service, and Franklin-based State Police were dispatched to the scene.

During the busier part of the morning between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., three motor vehicle accidents were reported, beginning at 7:33 a.m. with a call for a truck rollover crash on State Route 8. Polk Borough Police were dispatched to the scene.

A second call was received just minutes later, at 7:38 a.m., for an accident on State Route 8 near Dennison Run Road in Victory Township. Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department and Community Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene.

The third call came right on top of the first two, at 7:41 a.m., for a car in a ditch on U.S. 322 near Victory Church Road in Cranberry Township. Franklin-based State Police were dispatched to the scene.
