Sobriety Check Point, Roving Patrols Net Seven DUI Arrests

VENANGO COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — State Police in Franklin have released the results of a recent effort involving roving patrols and a sobriety checkpoint.

Franklin-based State Police conducted a DUI Sobriety Checkpoint on State Route 8 in Cornplanter Twp. on March 17 and DUI roving patrols throughout Venango County between March 17 and March 18.

Approximately 60 vehicles were stopped and a total of seven DUI arrests were made during the span of the operation, including:

– One DUI arrest was made at the checkpoint
– Four DUI arrests were made by DUI roving patrols
– Two DUI arrests were made by regular patrols

Additionally, troopers arrested six drivers for summary violations and one person for a misdemeanor drug possession offense.

Eighteen traffic warnings were also issued.

The names of the individuals arrested were not released.
