Sportsman’s Tavern Destroyed in Early Morning Fire

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Sportsman’s Tavern in Cornplanter Township, Venango County, was destroyed by a structure fire early Wednesday morning.

A representative from Venango County 911 told exploreVenango.com that the fire at the Sportsman’s Tavern located at 1604 State Route 8, Oil City, was called in at 12:15 a.m.

Firefighters from Cornplanter, Rouseville, Seneca, Cherrytree, Oakland, Pleasantville, Reno, and Oil City were dispatched to the scene.

Rockland and Rocky Grove were placed on standby.

Community Ambulance Service was also called to the scene.

The scene was cleared at 3:52 a.m., according to a representative of Venango County 911.
