Police Calls: Credit Card Fraud, DUI Crash

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Authorities responded to the following calls:

Credit Card Fraud

Franklin-based State Police say a fraud occurred on January 21 on Carey Lane, in Cranberry Township.

According to police, this crime occurred as an unknown perpetrator(s) gained access to the victim’s credit card information and made six unauthorized cash advance withdrawals.

The total amount stole was $1,500.00.

The victims are a 48-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, both of Cranberry.

Suspected DUI Accident

Franklin Police say a suspected DUI crash occurred early yesterday morning on the 600 Block of Grant Street.

According to police, around 2:50 a.m. on January 28, a known, 28-year-old Franklin man contacted the Franklin Police Department to report that he had struck a telephone pole.

After further investigation, it was discovered that the known man had “imbibed a sufficient amount of alcohol, such that he was rendered incapable of driving safely,” police say.

He was placed into custody for suspicion of Driving While Under the Influence.
