Franklin Woman Faces Child Endangerment, Drug Charges

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – A Franklin woman is facing child endangerment and drug charges after an incident that occurred on State Route 322, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 11:22 p.m. on May 29, 26-year-old Nancy Escalante, of Franklin, was allegedly found to be in possession of controlled substance.

Police say the victim is a toddler.

No other information on the incident is available at this time.

She was arraigned at 4:50 p.m. on May 29 in District Judge Andrew Fish’s office on the following charges:

– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor
– Endangering Welfare of Children — Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Misdemeanor 1
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
– Hinder Apprehension/Prosec-False Information To Law Enforcement Officials, Misdemeanor 2
– Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct, Summary

After failing to post $15,000.00 cash bail, Escalante remains in the Venango County Jail.

Escalante’s preliminary hearing is set for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, with Judge Fish presiding.
