State Police Calls: DUI Crash, Out-of-State Warrant Served, Marijuana Possession, Credit Card Fraud

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police responded to the following calls:

Oakland Township DUI Crash

Around 8:43 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, a known, 40-year-old Pleasantville man was traveling north on Sunville Road in Oakland Township. While negotiating a right curve, he hit the west side ditch.

The man was suspected to be under the influence of drugs; he was transported to Grove City hospital for his injuries.

Drugs were found in the vehicle.

Man Arrested on Out-of-State Warrant in Cranberry Township

Around 1:58 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, PSP Franklin was notified that a known 27-year-old Butler man who was staying at a private inpatient drug rehab center had an arrest warrant from South Carolina.

The known male was located and placed under arrest and arraigned in front of District Court 28-3-04.

The name of the man was not released.

Marijuana Possession at Franklin High School

Around 2:46 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, a known 16-year-old juvenile was found to have marijuana in her possession at Franklin Area Jr./Sr. High School.

A Written Allegation was filed charging the juvenile with Possession of Small Amount of Marijuana.

Credit Card Fraud in Cranberry Township

This incident occurred sometime between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, when a suspect identified as Mario Torrez of Redcoat Lane, Tucson, Arizona, gained access to a known victim’s Dick’s credit card and proceeded to order four pairs of men’s running shoes.

PSP Franklin is currently investigating this incident.

Richland Township Crash

Around 2:53 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, Daniel J. Walsh, 31, of Coraopolis, was operating a 2010 Audi Q5, traveling north on State Route 38 in Richland Township. He drove over a snow patch that had blown over the roadway and slid into a ditch on the eastern side of the road.

Walsh was wearing a seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries.

He was cited for a traffic violation.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Minicks Towing.
