State Police Calls: Marijuana Possession Arrest, Counterfeit Currency Passed

VENANGO/CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) – State police responded to the following calls:

Marijuana Possession Arrest in Oil City

Officer Bingman, of Franklin-based State Police, initiated a traffic stop around 2:14 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, on the 200 Block of East Third Street, Oil City, Venango County.

The stop was initiated due to an arrest warrant for the registered owner – a 21-year-old Pensacola, Florida woman – who was seated in the front passenger’s seat.

During the traffic stop, it was discovered the above-mentioned front seat passenger was in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Criminal charges are pending the results of testing of the marijuana at the Pennsylvania State Police Erie Laboratory.

Counterfeit Currency Investigation

According to Officer Allison, of PSP Clarion, counterfeit currency was used to purchase merchandise at Country Fair in Paint Township, Clarion County, around 9:28 a.m. on Friday, May 10.

This case is one of multiple counterfeit money incidents in the area, including an incident at the Dollar General Store located in Fryburg, Washington Township, Clarion County. According to Marienville-based State Police, on April 13, an unknown perpetrator(s) used three counterfeit $20 bills to pay for items over a span of three weeks.
