State Police Calls: Theft, Vehicle Vs. Deer Crash

VENANGO/FOREST CO., Pa. (EYT) — Area state police responded to the following calls:

Theft of License Plate in Canal Township

Franklin-based State Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Chestnut Grove Road, in Canal Township, Venango County, around 10:28 a.m. on Friday, May 22, for the report of a stolen PA registration plate from a white Ford F-150 pickup. The registration plate displays YXF7857.

The victim, a 78-year-old Utica man, presumed the plate to be stolen through the night between May 21 and May 22.

The investigation is ongoing.

Vehicle Vs. Deer Crash in Howe Township

According to Marienville-based State Police, around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, a 2014 Nissan Sentra was traveling north on State Route 66 just west of Sheffield Junction Road in Howe Township, Forest County, when a deer entered the roadway.

Police say the vehicle struck the deer then continued 50 feet before coming to a final rest on the right shoulder of the road.

No injuries were reported.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage.

The name of the driver was not released.
