State Police Calls: Assault, Scrubgrass Crash, Criminal Mischief, DUI

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — State police responded to the following calls:

Assault in Emlenton

Franklin-based State Police say an incident occurred sometime between midnight and 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, at a private residence located on Highland Avenue, in Emlenton Borough, Venango County.

A known Emlenton man struck a known Emlenton woman in the head, stomach, and groin with a closed fist.

Charges were filed with District Court 28-3-04.

The name of the accused was not released.

Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

Crash in Scrubgrass Township

PSP Franklin responded to a one-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon on Interstate 80 West, in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County.

Around 2:23 p.m. on December 9, a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling west on I-80 and a deer entered the roadway.

The driver — 60-year-old Debra S. Hartzell, of Summerville — was unable to avoid a collision with the deer. Her car impacted the deer with its front portion, causing significant damage to the front of the car.

Hartzell was using a seatbelt and was not injured.

Criminal Mischief in Cherrytree Township

Franklin State Police say an incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between 5:00 p.m. on December 9 and 8:00 a.m. on December 10 at Drake Well Museum located at 202 Museum Lane, Cherrytree Township, Venango County.

An unknown perpetrator(s) spray painted “69” on 14 separate signs at the Drake Well Museum.

DUI Arrest in Oakland Township

A known, 41-year-old woman was checked on for a motorist assist on Cherrytree Road, just east of Pritchard Road, in Oakland Township, around 12:06 a.m. on December 10.

The woman was subsequently arrested for DUI.

DUI and related charges are pending.

Found Item in Rockland Township

Around 12:53 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, PSP Franklin responded to a pull off on Mays Mills Road in Rockland Township in reference to clothing laying in the woods.

The clothes consist of a pair of women’s blue jeans, a pair of black and gray leggings, and a black shirt.
