State Police Calls: DUI in Oil City, Illegal Firearms Purchase in Cranberry

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police responded to the following calls:

DUI in Oil City

Police say around 12:41 a.m. on Monday, May 14, a known 27-year-old Oil City woman was stopped for a traffic violation near the intersection of Spruce Street and Plummer Street in Oil City.

The woman was subsequently arrested for D.U.I.

DUI and related charges are pending.

The woman’s name was not released.

Sale or Transfer of Firearms in Cranberry Township

According to police, around 10:44 a.m. on January 21, 2018, a known 31-year-old Franklin woman attempted to purchase a 9MM pistol from Dunham’s Sports in Cranberry Township.

The suspect had previously been convicted of a first-degree misdemeanor, which prohibited her from acquiring the firearm.

A PICS check was conducted arid the suspect was denied the purchase.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing.

The woman’s name was not released.
